Who Needs School?

Yes, who needs school when you have Disney? My two awesome friends, Lisa and Lisa, and I

decided to let the kids play hookey from school and go to the Magic Kingdom. Wouldn't you, especially if Lisa #2 had connections to get you in the park for free!

This was a welcome respite! As soon as the kids got home from school, we left our world behind and stayed the night at Lisa #2 's former home in Okoee (hasn't sold yet). Free hotel, Free Disney...not bad... The only sad part was that poor Jim had to work. Thank you Jim, for your neverending support! October 1st was a beautiful day. It was not too hot...just right. And best of all...the lines for the rides were minimal. This was also a significant day for Lisa #1 because this was her very first time to Disney!

The kids had a great time....The girls loved Space Mountain...who would have thought that Danielle and Kailey are thrill seekers. We had to ride it more than once. Cameron loved the Pirates of the Carribean the most..so we had to get a sword!

The only thing I didn't do, was take a picture with my two Lisa's! But, from the photo's you can tell the kids had a great time!

Finding Joy in the Midst of Grief

I have felt for sometime that I should post the purpose for this blog. For me to do something...I need to have a purpose... It started as a little thing...with a post about Evan...then the very next day he drowned...I didn't think nor want to continue a blog...but, it has become an outlet where I can express my feelings about my grief and also post some Joys along the way...It may get out of sequence from time to time....Grief is not linear, so my posts will not be linear. I hope to find Joy in the Midst of my Grief and possibly help some other struggling soul....We are not alone in this, God does not want us to grieve alone. Yes, we must do a ton of grieving alone, but we also need help from "Angels" among us.

Evan Chandler Haddock

September 7, 2006- August 10, 2008 (Just click on his picture to watch his video made by my 15 yr old cousin Brianne) The audiosteam has been disabled...need to get this fixed! We lost our beautiful 23 month old boy to a drowning accident. We went to visit family and somehow Evan managed to get in the backyard and found a bucket and I imagine he thought it would be fun to fill it with water (the bucket was found next to him)...I guess he slipped in the pool...or the weight of the water in the bucket caused him to fall...or maybe he was reaching for the bucket and slipped. It's all a mystery. We miss and love him dearly and wish he was still here. How we miss our Little Sunshine!
